The video only shows a few of the characters, including Cersei, Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, and Arya.  Check out the video below – Game of Thrones season 5 footage begins at 1:39.

Game of Thrones Nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards

Nominations for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have been announced, and Game of Thrones has landed itself with three nominations.

For the second year in a row, Peter Dinklage has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.  The cast of Game of Thrones has also been nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.

For a complete list of the nominees for these three categories continue reading.  Otherwise you can catch the award ceremony on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at 8 PM EST on TNT and TBS.

Game of Thrones Nominated for Golden Globes

The nominees for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards have been announced and Game of Thrones is among the nominees.

Game of Thrones has been nominated for Best TV Drama Series.  Among the other nominees are Downton Abbey, The Affair, House of Cards, and The Good Wife.  In the past Game of Thrones has been snubbed when it comes to the Golden Globes, and I think we can clearly see that again this year.  I really thought that Peter Dinklage would once again be nominated for Best Supporting actor, like he was in 2012.  The winners for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards will be announced January 11, 2015.

Game of Thrones Nominated for Writers Guild Awards

The 2015 Writers Guild Award nominees have been announced, and Game of Thrones has been nominated in two categories.

The first nomination Game of Thrones grabbed was for best Drama Series.  Game of Thrones will be going up against some tough competition in this one, but definitely has a chance to walk away with this award.  The second category was for Episodic Drama, gaining the nominated for “The Lion and The Rose” written by, the one and only, George R.R. Martin.  Unfortunatley we wont be seeing George R.R. Martin returning to write an episode in season 5 – he’s a bit busy trying to finish The Winds of Winter.

The Writers Guild Award winners will be announced on Saturday, February 14.

First Trailer for “Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series”

Just a few days ago we got out first look at Telltales’ Game of Thrones game.  It featured some familiar faces from HBO’s Game of Thrones series; such as Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon).  It was mentioned in Telltales’ blog that we can also expect to see additional characters from the show crossing over into the game.

So what do you think of the trailer?  And who do you think those other characters might be?  Let me know your thoughts on all of this below!

Details on Telltale’s Game of Thrones Game

Telltale Games finally gave us some actual news on this most anticipated game.  Before we get into the real fun on the news lets break down the numbers.  Telltale’s Game of Thrones game will consist of six episodes, the first being titled “Iron From Ice.”  There is not set date for the first episodes release. However from a previous post I talked about how we should be expecting this game within the year, and seeing that the end of the year is nearing, that means so is the game. -Whatever the case may be, I think we could expect a release date being announced within a week or two.  The game will be available for PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS, with apparently more platforms to be announced.  Looking at that list its pretty hard to think of what other platforms their developing the game for – looking at the other games developed by Telltale I would say we can expect to see this game on the PS Vita as well.

Bran Confirmed Absent from Season 5

A few months ago Kristian Nairn said something that shocked everyone, that he would not be appearing in season 5.  Now when this initially came out, it was unclear just what that meant.  Did it mean that all of Bran and company would be left out of the season?  Or just Hodor and Meera?  I originally believed that we would still have a Bran story line, and that we just would bench Hodor and Meera, and focus in on Bran and the Three-Eyed Crow.  However, I was wrong.

David Benioff, one of the Game of Thrones producers, has just confirmed with Entertainment Weekly that the entire Bran story line will be benched for season 5.  When asked about the decision to bench the story line, Benioff said the following: (possible spoilers, very mild though)

Exciting Pictures from Daznak’s Pit

Some exciting new pictures, and a short video, have surfaced from Daznak’s Pit.  Now as you may have guessed these two fall into the heavy spoiler section below the cut.

I unfortunately can’t say to much about them above the break.  However it should be noted, these pictures don’t show us anything especially ground breaking.  Everything these pictures show was basically covered in an older post I wrote – which also had it’s contents fall under a heavy spoiler break.

So if you have read through A Dance with Dragons continue reading.  Otherwise I’d strongly advice you not to.
