Exciting Pictures from Daznak’s Pit

Some exciting new pictures, and a short video, have surfaced from Daznak’s Pit.  Now as you may have guessed these two fall into the heavy spoiler section below the cut.

I unfortunately can’t say to much about them above the break.  However it should be noted, these pictures don’t show us anything especially ground breaking.  Everything these pictures show was basically covered in an older post I wrote – which also had it’s contents fall under a heavy spoiler break.

So if you have read through A Dance with Dragons continue reading.  Otherwise I’d strongly advice you not to.

Emilia Clarke’s Birthday?

emilia-clarke-cake-cutting

With filming wrapping up in Osuna, Spain the cast and crew got Emilia Clarke a birthday cake..or more precisely a name day cake.  This would be the actresses 28th, but the catch is the controversy whether or not this was actually her birthday.

Several other sites have claimed that it was in fact Emila’s birthday, while others say that it’s not .  Google has Emilia Clarke’ birthday as May 1 (now I know, you can’t always trust the internet) – but back when Emilia was turning 26, The Huffington Post wrote an article for the actresses birthday, in which they specified her birthday as March 1.

Daznak’s Pit Pictures

Game-Of-Thrones-Daznaks-Pit-Season-5-1

New pictures have surfaced showing the filming that is currently underway in Osuna, Spain for the fifth season of Game of Thrones.  Pictured above is the infamous bull ring which will be used to represent Daznak’s Pit in Meereen.

With these new pictures I’m a bit hesitant to say anything else, just for spoiler reasons.  So for the real meat of this post you’ll have to go below the break.  But be warned this post will be very spoiler heavy if you have not read through A Dance with Dragons…and even if you have read the books this could still be spoilery.  The below pictures show something that I don’t think any book reader would’ve expected to see this soon in the show – as it’s something we haven’t even seen in the books yet.

What We Saw In Dubrovnik

Filming in the city of Dubrovnik has finally come to an end.  In this post we will be exploring a few of the most notable things that were captured on the set of Game of Thrones – of course no spoilers until after the break.

The first notable sighting to mention is the faith militant.  In season 5 we will being seeing a much more important role from the side of the faith – more specifically that of the faith of the Seven.  These images give us a good idea of what they’ll be looking like.  Its very easy to notice the seven pointed start on the foreheads of these men.  It is unclear as of now if this will be the Poor Fellows or the Warrior’s Sons, of if the show will even include both groups.  As of it now it would appear only one of the groups will make it into the show – possibly a combination of two, as the show has done will other similar groups in previous seasons.

Also the image below gives us our first look at Jonathan Pryce, who will be playing the High Sparrow in this coming season.

Another interesting prop that appeared early on set is the newly designed carriages for presumably Cersei, Tommen, and possibly Margaery?  Nothing is certain as of yet, but I assume the heavily armored carriage will be Cersei’s to show her ever growing fears and suspicions after the death of Tywin in the season 4 finale.  Let me know who you think will be sitting in each of these carriages!

Below the break will be heavy spoilers, involving a certain walk that will be taking place in season 5 and a deviation from the books involving another character.

Winterfell Returning for Season 5

2

Season 5 of Game of Thrones will be reintroducing an old location, Winterfell.  For those of you who have read the books you’ll know what to possibly expect from this – but for those of you who haven’t, here’s what you should already know.  Our last time in Winterfell was in the season 2 finale – when Ramsay Bolton put it to the torch, while also taking Theon Greyjoy captive.  Now at the end of season 4, when Roose informed Ramsay that his actions had earned him legitimization as a Bolton,  that they are now headed toward Winterfell with their forces.

Here are some of the pictures, shared on Reddit, showing us the preparations being made to resurrect Winterfell.

Also shared on Reddit were some images of Winterfell’s Godswood.

Filming Begins in Sibenik

23

Filming in the town of Sibenik started Thursday, the 18th.  Several large names from Game of Thrones have been spotted on set filming in Sibenik – specifics of who was spotted on set will be below the break, for spoiler reasons.  Filming in the town of Sibenik will be going through the 23rd, with scenes being filmed at the Fortress of St. John.

Below are some images of the filming on set, captured by slobodnadlmacija.com, and originally spotted by Watchers on the Wall.  Now the images below will only contain the extras on set, to see any of the notable characters go below the break.

For those of you curious what location Sibenik will be used for in the show, the answer is Braavos.  And that is the main reason why I consider some of the photos below the break to be spoilerish.  So be warned if you go below the break you will be seeing characters in Braavos, who at the end of season 4 were nowhere near Braavos.

House of Black and White Props

Thanks to Reddit user PunchPatrolwe have a new look at some of the props that will be appearing in season 5.  The props we have are of two statues, which will be making an appearance in the House of Black and White.  The statues are of The Weeping Woman, and the Lion of Night.  These two statues represent Gods, whom are worshiped by some of the free cities in Essos.  The Weeping Woman, a god from Lyse, is  commonly visited by older women – The bowl in the hand of the Weeping Woman is filled by tears falling from her eyes.  The Lion of Night is commonly visited by wealthy men men, and is a god in Yi Ti.

I’m curious because now that we know the show is deciding to stay true to show, with these statues at least, just what other Gods we may be seeing in the  House of Black and White. I assume we will see a statue for the Stranger, but could we also possibly see statues for Bakkalon or maybe even the Merling King?

Let me know your thoughts on the statues pictured above.  And what other Gods do you think we will be seeing in season 5?

Construction at Diocletian’s Palace

got_palaca_2014_17

Filming continues to roll on in Split, and with that so does the construction.  Some new sets are under construction at Diocletian’s Palace – some old, and some new.  The old set that will be brought back for season 5 is that of the chamber where Daenerys locked her two dragons Viserion, and Rhaegal.  The inclusion of this set for season 5 makes me very happy – I can’t say specifics why, but if you’ve read the books, you know why.

The second set of photos has the makings of a market place, or possibly a tavern.  What exactly this set will be used for is still unclear at the moment.  From what we can see in these images it could lean either way, so I think we have to consider what scenes this set could be user for.  And when we take into consideration that this set will most likely be used for a Meereen scene, I still can’t quite decide whether or not it will be a market place, or a tavern.

So are you excited to be heading back into the dragon chamber?  And what do you think the second set of photos looks like, a tavern or a market place? Let me know your thoughts below.

One small bit of light spoilery news below the break.
