Filming Season 4 in Iceland

Filming in Iceland has finally started.  Iceland has been the usual filming location in the past for locations north of the Wall.  Although this time it seems we might be expecting something different, as the weather in Iceland is not correct right now for the usual scenes, and the fact we have confirmed reports of Maisie Williams (Arya) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) both being in Reykjavik.

For those of you who don’t remember where left these two characters in the show here’s a quick catch up.  Arya was last seen in the Riverlands with Sandor Celgane, the Hound.  Brienne of Tarth on the other hand just arrived in King’s Landing with Jaime Lannister.

SPOILERS AHEAD!! DO NOT PASS UNLESS YOU’VE FINISHED A FEAST FOR CROWS!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!

So lets start with Brienne, we just left off with her arriving to Kings Landing, along with Jaime. That means we may be seeing Jaime give her the task of searching for Sansa Stark, along with giving her Oathkeeper (the Valyrian steel long-sword forged from house Stark’s great-sword Ice.) I could see the writers changing this into the search for Arya.  Because they may want to keep Sansa’s escape till later in the season. This would lead her into Cracklaw Point, which I believe could be well represented by some locations in Iceland.  Also the news that they have recently recast Andy Beckwith (Rorge) who makes an important appearance in Brienne’s story.

Now onto Arya, who is currently traveling through the Riverlands with Sandor Clegane.  I think we’re going to see a lot of these two traveling and talking, simply because of how much the audience like’s the characters interactions.  I’m not quite sure if we’ll get the inn scene, where Sandor fights with the Tickler and Polliver.  I hope we do because it is such a great scene in the development of Arya’s character.  But having Sandor die is very sad (unless he’s just on the Quiet Isle digging graves).
